New guidelines for the energy label
In future, the new energy label with energy efficiency classes A to G will only be issued for light sources (LED modules, retrofit solutions, etc.) but not for luminaires. The obligation to provide an energy label for luminaires where the light source can be removed without damaging the luminaire no longer applies. Luminaires will only bear a label if the enclosed light source cannot be removed undamaged by the market surveillance authority for testing purposes. This means there will no longer be energy labels for the belux range of luminaires. Information on enclosed light sources can be found in the revised instructions for use of the respective luminaires. The old labels may remain on products that are already packaged. Therefore, there may be old and new labels on the market for a transitional period. Further information on energy consumption labelling from 1 September 2021 can be found on the LightingEurope website.
